SA Golf Open - Ice Art at Pearl Valley

Issued by: Rapid Fire PR

It was a frosty tee-off at Pearl Valley for Ice Art and Bell's Whiskey. Each day of the tournament a large ice sculpture of a golf ball, which as also a fountain was produced, along with snow-engraved replicas of the AS Open logo.

Each Bells ice sculpture fountain served up chilled Bells Whiskey to the eager guests in the Championship tent. Despite the extreme heat the engraved snow logos remained strong as they were layered inside the ice and so even as the outside melted away slowly the logo remained true. The ice sculptures and engravings were all carved by hand, new items for each day were installed in the morning before tee-off.

The ball and the base are delivered in separate pieces and then the ball is rolled into place on site, to sit on the branded base, and then they are bonded together with chilled water. A pipe runs through the ice sculpture and the liquid runs through the pipe system, through a pump and into an icy catch tray in continual motion.
